Terms
Last updated September 30, 2026. See also our Privacy page.
These terms are an agreement between you and tab, made by Brady UX (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using tab you agree to them. We’ve tried to keep them short and plain.
1. Your account
- You must be 18 or older and give accurate details.
- Keep access to your email secure: signing in is done by email link.
- You’re responsible for what happens in your account.
2. What tab does, and what stays yours to do
tab helps you track time, send invoices and work receipts, and get paid. You stay responsible for your work, your prices, what you bill, your taxes and your relationship with your clients. tab isn’t tax, legal or accounting advice.
3. Getting paid online
- Online payments run through Stripe, into your own Stripe account. To use them you must connect a Stripe account and agree to Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement.
- You are the seller. Refunds, disputes and chargebacks are between you and your client and are handled in your Stripe account. tab never holds your money: Stripe pays you out on its own schedule.
- At launch, online payment is available for invoices in US dollars. You can always be paid another way, like a check or a transfer straight to your bank.
4. Fees
- Tracking, invoices, work receipts, your logo and exports are free.
- On money your clients pay you online through tab, tab’s fee each calendar month is: nothing on the first $2,000, 1% from $2,000 to $10,000, and 0.5% above $10,000. It’s taken automatically from each payment by Stripe, so there’s no bill and no card on file.
- If you refund a payment, tab gives back its fee in the same proportion.
- Stripe’s own processing fee is separate and paid to Stripe (for US accounts: 0.8% capped at $5 by bank transfer, or 2.9% + 30¢ by card).
- Payments you receive outside tab are always free.
- If we change tab’s fees, we’ll email you at least 30 days before, and the change will only apply to payments after that date. We won’t move a feature you already use for free behind a paid plan.
5. The “Sent with tab” line
On the free plan, invoices, receipts and the pages your clients open show a small “Sent with tab” line.
6. Fair use
Don’t use tab to send spam, deceive anyone, pretend to be someone else, invoice for anything illegal or anything Stripe doesn’t allow, or try to break or overload tab. To protect everyone’s email delivery, there’s a daily limit on emails each account can send. We may suspend accounts that break these rules, and we’ll tell you why when we can.
7. Your content
What you put in tab is yours. You let us store and process it only to run tab for you (for example, to show your invoice to your client). You can export it any time from Money → Export.
8. Availability
tab is new and still improving. We work hard to keep it running and your data safe, but we provide it “as is”, without guarantees that it will always be available or error-free. Keep your own records of anything important.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the fees you paid tab in the 12 months before the claim or $100.
10. Ending
You can stop using tab and delete your account at any time, in Settings → Your data → Delete my account. We may end or suspend accounts that break these terms. If we ever shut tab down, we’ll give at least 60 days’ notice so you can export your data.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA.
