A Harvest alternative without the two-project limit

Harvest is a polished tracker with invoicing. Its free plan is tight for a working freelancer; tab’s isn’t.

Updated 2026-10-01

Harvest’s free plan is built for individual freelancers: 1 seat and 2 active projects, with time tracking, invoicing and expenses. It can’t add your logo or attach files to invoices, and it can’t email invoices or export them as PDFs without connecting Stripe. Its paid Teams plan starts at $9 a seat a month (yearly) or $11 monthly. On top of Stripe’s fees, Harvest adds a small fee of its own on online payments for most accounts (its help center shows an example of 0.5%).

  • Your logo on every invoice, free.
  • No extra platform fee on your first $2,000 collected online each month.

Where Harvest is the better fit

Harvest has native Mac and iPhone apps today, deep integrations (Asana, Jira, QuickBooks on paid plans) and team reporting. If you run a team or need those integrations, Harvest is the stronger choice.

Move your hours to tab

  1. In Harvest, admins can go to Settings → Import/Export → Export all time for a CSV of every entry. Anyone can export from Reports → Detailed time → CSV.
  2. Sign up for tab free at app.tabwork.app (email only, no card).
  3. Go to Settings → Your data → Import, and drop in the CSV. tab recognizes Toggl Track, Clockify and Harvest exports automatically; for anything else you confirm which column is the date, the hours and the description.
  4. Check the preview (clients, projects and hours per client), then import. You can undo an import.

Your history comes with you, so your reports and real hourly rate start from day one.
